OABA Members Give Testimony In Support of House Bill 352

On the news front, Jana Lee-Harris, Laura Lee and Joe Osborn of OABA went in front of the Ohio Senate Agriculture committee to give testimony in support of House Bill 352 on April 3rd. This bill, when passed, will designate Alpacas and Lama's as livestock in the state of Ohio. This bill is very important to the alpaca industry, as it opens the way for us to work with the Department of Agriculture on programs and grants dedicated to the alpaca industry.

House bill 352 was written by House Representative Tom Patton and Bob Rodgers of Rodgers Reserve Alpaca Farm. OABA would like to personally thank Tom Patton and Bob Rodgers for their efforts in this monumental undertaking. There were over 700 legislative bills introduced in 2007 and only 18% were passed, so this was not an easy task to complete. Our hats are off to you gentlemen.

Hope to see everyone on April 26th and good luck with the spring show season.

Sincerely,

Joe Osborn — Christi's Dream Weaving Suris
Laura Lee — Buckeye Country Alpacas
Bob Danielson — M & M Alpacas
Sheri Deily — Heatherbrook Farms
JoAnn White — Seven Pines Alpacas
